What I found this morning, luckily it didn't take out the fence. Did some cleanup tonight after work, looks like I'm burning elm in the stove. Diamond got hit with straight line winds this afternoon, when I drove through it coming home there were multiple trees uprooted and power lines down on the east side. I was about 6 miles south working when that happened and only got a bit of wind and heavy rain. Ground is soft from the rain last night and root balls lifted all over the area with the afternoon wind. Dumped 3 3/4" from the gauge, don't remember when I dumped it last, and got another 1/2" this afternoon.

Doggone wind.

What type of elm is that?

Morning all, 52°to 63°. Chilly out of doors right now.
Doggone wind.

What type of elm is that?
I would assume slippery, aka red, judging from the red inner bark. I'll drag the splitter out this morning and see what I can get done if I am not working. May look at a car for the boy to drive to college this afternoon and who knows, may head to Miami if the water is not too high to fish.

If you need any help, let me know
Thanks Thomas. I don't really have any major issues on the home place. Considered offering a wood drop in the field for some extra fire wood from the cleanup but with the rain it would turn it into a mud pit. Drinking another cup of coffee right now and getting a plan going.
