This was laying in the highway when I got back to the house. Sent picture to nephew to get him to ID, gopher snake, kind of unusual for the area. Guess I need to send the info to someone at the conservation department with the location.

I ran over a few random snakes in the way home this afternoon.

The turtles are out in force as well.....but I drive around those lil guys.

Morning all, 59° to 76°. Bit of rain last night but no bad weather. Loin chops for lunch today at the parents.

I made Brazilian style pecahna steaks last night.
I’ll be doing them again.
Basically, you take the top sirloin cap and cut lengthwise to 1.5” thick steaks, then serve cut into 1/4” thick pieces medium rare across the grain. The kids were chowing down on them last night.

Beneficial snake. I tend to leave them alone as long as they are not in the house or shop. Guess it is a bull snake, going to have to give the nephew a hard time about misidentifying it.
