Don't have a clue why the sidewall delaminated after a year and a half.
Unfortunately the quality of materials being used coupled with lack of QC and pride in manufacturing.

Last year I lost 3 tires on my trailer.

Tires were 2 years old, almost now wear. Approximately 1000 miles +/-

2 blew out while parked in my driveway.

Junk Ass *s-word!

Morning Chet. You would think Carlise would be a decent brand, at least they used to be. I did notice these were made in China, production date 2724. New ones are production date 2425. Spending the day at home, extra people again so I will get the other changed as well as the spare with the good one on the axle. Try to run through my receipts again to make sure for my taxes to be done.

Need to add build access or spreadsheet to enter all cattle birth, death, sales, etc into as well. Been saying that for years now.

Friend of mine has permission to fish private land and I get an invite to come hang with some of his family. I don't know if I would be allowed to invite someone else to tag along, I'll have to check on that. Main thing is I don't want to mess up him having permission to fish where he does. He and one of his brothers went catfishing there yesterday and his brother picked up a 20 and 30 lb blue. May have to wait until first part of April with his schedule and the muddy water. On vacation this week coming up, do I need to roll in your yard about 4:30 in the morning to take you to chase crappie and walleye on stockton?

Maybe?
Gotta check with the planner.

Be grateful that those tires crapped out while sitting in the drive, not while cruising down the road.

And yes, the quality control on tires from china is crap.

Carlisle tires aren’t what they used to be.

I was just at the tire shop getting a trailer tire repaired, I looked over the stacks of tires sitting there.

Some made in china, some Vietnam, some , some from Poland & made in the USA

When I ran super singles on the semi, I had 3 of the for 4 drive tires do that. They were all Michelins.

I have only seen one other semi tire do that, it was some off breed that was on the other truck.

One tire guy said it had to do with the bead breaking when putting the tire on the rim , either when new or after replacing it after repairing a flat.

Michelin’s for decades had been the undisputed champion for quality.

I run Michelin’s on for RAM pickup, had one go out of round during warranty.

Makes me wonder if there are any really good quality tires left?

Goodyear has their Endurance trailer tire that’s supposed to be good quality, unfortunately 3X the price of import.

Bad thing was that it actually did that between the lake and home. It would seem that it wouldn't take 18 months for it to do that as well. Took the good one off and replaced the spare already this morning. Spare was original to the boat, built 2007.

Hang in there!

And, eat some raw garlic (if you can)......it's powerful good for the immune system.
I only thought I had minor improvements. It got worse, much worse. Monday and Tuesday were brutal; Wednesday was better. Today is the first day without any fever

Working on nephews truck so I used it as an excuse to get some more toys. Don't know how many times this would have come in handy rather than beating on things with a hammer. And if anyone is interested, Amazon has these in size 11 for $50. I needed a new pair of rubber boots since mine decided to start filling with water a few weeks ago.

Sounds like you need some fresh air. Maybe I should take Matt and Levi to Grand and meet up with you.

You can’t make up the crazy translation gaffes that the Chinese crank out on a daily basis. What does superpose mean? Has anyone ever met a kind replacement?IMG_1078.jpeg

I wouldn’t hesitate to put Michelins on again. The ones that bubbled were around 30% tread or so.

I like Firestones or Michelins for steers.

You couldn’t pay me enough to put a Goodyear on anything I own. Tractor, trailers, lawn mower or vehicles.

We tried some Goodyear super single drive tires, 2 of the 4 of them blew out around 50% tread.

2 in the same week while I was on the road.

The Michelins bubbled but didn’t blow out.

Michelins, while being a French based company, the tires predominantly sold in the U.S. are made on the east coast of the U.S. Back when I worked for Western Auto (I’ve sold thousands of tires when I was with them) they sent me to Michelin school in South Carolina. The school was part of the manufacturing plant. It was very fascinating to say the least. In my opinion Michelin are probably the finest made. But I found a brand that I’m sold on now. Westlake. Now, they are made in Taiwan but I’ve got 3 sets of them and when it comes to balancing they are the absolute best I’ve seen. My E350 Superduty Van has a set on it. About 14k miles on them now. 10 ply rated tires. 80 psi and I’ve had some serious loads on them and they never squished. Westlake doesn’t make every tire size out there though. They’re kind of limited.
I’ve run Goodyears before. They did ok but I’ve never cared for the brand. B.F. Goodrich is an excellent brand. They’re owned by Michelin. Cooper tires are another good brand. Cooper also makes a lot of other companies private label tires too. They made most of Western Autos private label tires. They make a fine truck tire.
I have to admit that I’m surprised at the Carlisle tires dropping in quality though. I’ve always considered them one of the best trailer tires made.

Morning all, 59° to 85° today. I feel like I need about another 10 hours of sleep. Should be another calf by now and tractor starter is due to be delivered today. Get about 45 more minutes to hit the coffee before the day starts.

Been thinking about/praying for you.
Hopefully you keep on the mend.

Fever is miserable.

Exact same thing happened to me. My trailer was slightly shaking on my way back from a GTG. Stopped at my tire shop and asked them to take a look. He says one of your tires is splitting and shows it to me. He kept looking and goes, you have 3 bad tires! Mine were a little older, but probably no more miles and plenty of tread.
