Milling pine…
So forgiving and smells like victory..

In clean pine, a blade lasts little short of forever. I switch from milling white oak to ash to pine to black locust—what a change.

Not enough or too much. The forecast has changed so much I almost stopped paying attention to it. Anywhere from 4" to 16" depending on which guesser is saying it. With the minimal forecast it may only be 5". I need to write down the guesser who in '72, before my time, completely missed a 36" storm.

Yes, the sky would literally be falling. It’s interesting how “global warming” flew the coop and “climate change” took its place, like climate has ever been fixed, and like humans have a significant role to play. How “bout that huge ball of hellfire in the sky? That’s a lot more of a factor.

Same here; everything from 8 to 20 inches. So it will probably be 2 inches or 3 feet

Dad, my sister & her daughter drove to Florida to see dads brother last week. Allegedly headed home today.

Can’t tell dad anything, hopefully my sister can slap some sense into him.

Mother was regaling us with tales of the last trip to Florida her & dad took. Drove home thru an ice storm & were about the only vehicle on the road because dad was hell bent on getting home & rat run motels in horrible neighbors they stayed in.

Both of my brothers confirmed a similar trip that the folks took them to that amusement park in Orlando.

Love my father but a planner he ain’t.

Deer numbers thru late muzzle loader in Iowa, this doesn’t include 2 weeks excess tag/high power season that ends this Sunday.

Around 100,000 deer taken statewide, up 1% from last year, down 4% from the 5 year average.

Adams County is to our north, Page is the county to our west & Ringgold is to our east.

The county above Taylor, Tama is the Hoskey boys stomping grounds.

I think one of my last ones I smoked enough to get the nice flavor and then brought it in and threw it in the crock pot with some of the usual spices and made shredded beef for sandwiches. Worked out quite well with the smoke to it.

Well, at least it's not hot......

Froze my carcass all day moving dirt/rocks on the tractor & neighbor's excavator.
The stove sure feels nice this evening.

Brought a snow shovel in the house, so I guess we're ready for whatever.....

I think one of my last ones I smoked enough to get the nice flavor and then brought it in and threw it in the crock pot with some of the usual spices and made shredded beef for sandwiches. Worked out quite well with the smoke to it.

I cooked it to 130 then let it rest…

I’ll put it on the slicer at a thin setting tomorrow..

Then we’ll put the juice to it tomorrow..

It should make a decent sandwich..

-8 this morning and currently at 0f. Talking a low of -1 in the morning with a high of +14 tomorrow. Going to head to the Midlands Auto Show in the morning. Mostly just local dealers showing what they have with no sales pressure. There will also be world of wheels and a few other displays. Maybe I'll try my hand at the big rig simulator.

Evening folks. Had a good day doing some HVAC duct work in the out of town place,

It was really a challenge to not keep feeding the stove since we were on the same level.
Kept it near 75f till we ran out of supplies then stoked a small amount extra, temp came up rather quickly.

Currently at-23f with-out that pesky wind-chill number. At least we are a good ways from Duluth, it sounds like it's downright chilly in that neighborhood.

One more stoking of the stove and off to dream land for me. Later . . .

Peeked out the front door at 3 and can still see grass. Sitting at 5° right now and what is coming down is light super fine flakes. Wind is still blowing some as well. Opened the stove vent to bring the temps up a little toward the back of the house but it is still comfortable yet as it is. Keep safe.
