Lots of yellow there. I would burn a bit of it but until I retire and can watch some things at home more I will pass. Might be a bit when I clean up the dead down stuff out of the field this winter.
I burn lots of it, it produces a lot of coals & a lot of heat as well.

The older stuff ( 15 yrs or more ) produces more coals than fresher stuff.

Morning all, a cold 9° so far and still dropping. Fed extra yesterday so I can sit and drink more coffee in front of the stove this morning. Need to do an oil change on one of the trucks but that might have to wait until a few more days when it is warmer. Since no one got the last reference lets try pear pimples for hairy fishnuts. Surely I can't be the only one here. 🤣

I burn it selectively..

Those racks are for Gary, he’s got a big Taylor OWB. He pays a premium for Hedge.
Says he goes through measurably less wood each season as opposed to oak.

They call it poor man’s coal around here.

I just like to put a piece of it on for overnight burns. Or out in the shop incinerator..

Ex-inlaws wanted it exclusivly for heat. Didn't divorce the wife, just her family for my own sanity. The number of times they almost burned down their house is just stupid, no common sense on maintaining a wood stove properly. Them burning hedge was just a disaster waiting to happen. Two days before thanksgiving, her mother wrecked the van I had given them. They were already demanding a different one within a day. Not happening from this guy considering the poor decisions they have been making over the last few years.

My son & his buddy got a couple of goats this morning. I told him I wasn’t getting up & hunting with the temp @ 0*.

Grandson son & I got some quality time watching vintage cartoons from the 60’s & 70’s.

My son came back with a bloody plastic sack, had 4 tenderloins.

So we had pan seared tender loins for dinner. First goat I have cooked in years, must of been ok, they all 3 ate like starving dogs.

Ding, ding, ding. Even have the hardbacks with his earlier works from college days. Have several of his newer ones as well. Just noticed someone has been in and returned one of my books upside down, need to rectify that.
