Burnt a brush pile today..

3 rabbits and 3 coons and one field mouse were the tally from that pile..

The rabbits are in the oven.

Reason #89 to dislike the cold. Makes my skin dry and having a chunk of log slide back on it will peel it off. Got 4 digits like that with missing pieces to return back to work tomorrow.

Currently sitting at 26° at 4am. Early start time today of 8 so I fed the herd late yesterday. Somewhere out in the field is a new calf that the momma has hidden, looked healthy and dry yesterday morning so not too worried right now. Dad brought out the cow late this spring and I was expecting a late calf just wish it was the week before. Looks like flurries from OKC north but nothing too much in the area.

Doggone......

I really wish I could learn to like the heat, but I just don't.

Think I have been out in the cold so many times on the job with no choice that it is what has caused this aversion to cold. Just learn to layer up and keep hand warmers with me all the time in the winter.

Morning all, 26° at 4 to start. When I got off work last night had to clean about an inch of white off my car and drove home in flurries. Waiting until light to see how we are now.
Been getting insurance quotes to check pricing and will be changing this week. Guy who rents west of the place is an agent and look like he can beat my current rates by a fair amount. Been hearing bit of a rumor and had it confirmed about the new neighbor to the south who showed up during our extracurricular activities in October. Kid was supposed to be buying all the land to the south and older landowner was carrying the loan for a bit. Somehow the buyer talked the owner into deeding a bit over 11 acres to him so he could build a house and the owner did. Buyer stopped making all payments at that time since the land was titled in his name. Balance went back to owner who was robbed of the 11 acres. Nice to know what kind of people these new neighbors are going to be.
