Getting some drizzle/rain this morning & it’s a bit chilly.

This little cold snap should put the bite on anything still hanging on after athe few frosts we have had.

Probably really get the dnr’s deer to moving as well.

I think we are down to about 900 acres of corn left.

Potential for getting done by Thanksgiving is still alive.

I should have swung by and drug you out of bed at 3:30 this morning. You could have watched the sun come up with me. Brothers land is in Cedar county and it just hits corner where he has 40 acres. Conservation department should contact you if you are in a CWD hunt zone. I'll look at the maps and check with my nephew to see if you are in one of the new ones. Brother gets paid for a certain number of deer he takes during regular season to help pay for processing as well. He does his own and uses the money to buy seasonings to make breakfast sausage and snack sticks.

It was a productive day. Had limit and a bonus 19" walleye by a little after 7:00. It was 45° on the water when I got there and my fingers told me they didn't care much to be there. Boat out and on the road before 7:30 and home by 8:45. Cleaned fish for lunch tomorrow and then went and picked up another load of wood and second trip for the tractor. Just the trunk to work up now and I will do that a round at a time.

Only 39° right now, still showing downward trend and the wind has continued all night. Sitting listening to the stove warm up and thinking about coffee number 3.

@Hedgerow Matt, so far it looks like we only get the extra 4 day hunting time right now. So deer season will run from Nov 15 to Nov 30 for us. Brother usually gets a letter from conservation telling him of the extended season and to contact them with the names of people who are allowed to hunt his property.

26f and first hard freeze for us. Leaves are going into overdrive dropping now. First fire started yesterday with some locust that was left over from last year.
