About 70 give or take. If you head down I-44 you can drop down from the exit west of Sarcoxie, from Highway 60 straight north of Granby. I'm about 30 minutes south of Matt. I'll post the address on Sunday afternoon so we can get everything sorted out.

I misunderstood, it is his brothers house. I talked to his sister-in-law this morning when I returned them. Ran the weed eater so if they were in the ditch I would find them before they were damaged. Jackass young supervisor tried to say something to me about the grass on my pants legs and how we are supposed to look professional. They have changed car washers in the last couple weeks and I told him mine hadn't been touched in 9 days. I could grow a garden in the back of it. Hard to look professional when all the packages and myself are coated in dirt from the beginning of the day.

Morning all, 63° to mid 80's again today. Try to put some poles in the ground for ranging this morning if I have time. Libations, whats people drinks of choice. How many coffee drinkers do we have? Water, tea, milk and what else. I'll start picking up some ice on the way home each night since I pass two machines.
Food- Matt has swine flesh, I have ground beef and some catfish. I will plan on a couple pans of hot rolls, hush puppies, french fries if I can get the time to prep them (might just thin slice and dip in batter), three types of cookies, few apple pies and couple freezers of homemade ice cream.
Rabbit food or any personal requests?

I was figuring lunch time about noonish or so for main things. Anybody planning to show up earlier is welcome to if you want to sit around and chat. If some want to show up in the morning I can throw on some pancakes, sausages and eggs for a little breakfast as well.

Remembered there is a bunch of corn in the freezer as well. Have to drag some of that out as well. Electric company is supposed to show up tomorrow morning for a preliminary look-see. He needs to measure stuff and I guess make sure it meets their code maybe or something. I kept telling him transformer, meter and connect my wires with theirs but he didn't seem to understand. Probably paper pusher who has no experience actually doing work.

There is an eagle nest about 3/8 mile from the house. The cottonwood tree it’s in has started to lose leaves & I just noticed it.

I have mixed feelings about it. If it’s noticed then there will lots of folks driving by & gawking.

If the local dnr gets wind of it she will be a regular passer by & that’s very uncool.

I have been a bit concerned that they eagles will get after my beagle since he is only about 25#.

Hopefully they are getting plenty of food off/out of the neighbors pond. Plenty of geese over there.

They’ve become pretty common around here.

I wouldn’t worry bout the beagle. Those eagles go for what’s easy and low risk.

AKA.. dead stuff preferably.. that’s what I see em eating anyway.

We see dozens of them because of the Mississippi here, but one nest in particular was unique. It was probably 15' tall in a dead tree and you could see it from the state highway. Supposedly the largest in the Midwest. They must have added one stick too many cuz the whole shebang fell down this last Winter or Spring. Started a new one in an adjacent tree now.

I have heard them called oversized more attractive vultures.

They do eat lots dead stuff but when pickins get slim & that beagle is out running around in open fields, I get a bit nervous.

There should be plenty of wild goats laying around to feed them if they get tired of plucking geese off the neighbors pond.

I saw a hawk snag a squirrel off of the church steeple a few year ago. definitely an attention getter to see.
