Looks like a cookie cutter day again today, 67°/85°. Cooler weather next week from the guessers. I'll take the boy to school this morning and pick up the beef from the processor. Need to unload some wood this morning beforehand and do some splitting later.
Three weeks until the 25th, any idea on numbers we can expect here? Trying to do some meal planning ahead of time. Ordered a cheap AR500 target and will do some bush hogging and measuring for distance in the next week or so. I will put together a target stand out of some lumber laying around here as well for paper targets.

@Sawdust Man How close is @Workshop from you when he is at the stamp. Looking at a relay on some swine flesh if we are still wanting to do that.
We're going to be in the same place at some point this weekend, I'll see if we have anything appropriate in the freezer and report back.

Gots some beef in the freezer again. Ran a 7 cft freezer to overflowing with hamburger again. Picked up 2 1/2 beefs, someone already paid and picked up theirs and brother is supposed to bring someone over this afternoon to pick up a quarter or so.

That’s a long drive to eat but I will see how we are progressing with harvest & what the weather is doing.

Sounds like they sucked a hedge post into the big machine a while ago, bent some stuff up & need parts. Dad always shuts his down at dark. Maybe they got 80 acres point rows, side hills & rough stuff on the beans knocked out today ?

Easily understood, farm work needs to be done. I skipped checking cows yesterday so I could take my parents to the lake and several times have mixed feelings on things like that. But I will always take the time to do stuff with them since they are almost 80 now. I was thinking this would be a nice way to get so see each other with no real purpose except to enjoy the day and each others company. I personally always prefer to have a face to face rather than a phone call. Last couple of times we were cutting and splitting pecan east of Carthage which has been almost a year now. Prior times before that I couldn't make it to because of scheduling but those were not pleasant visits. I still think from time to time about Alan's and Matt's brother-in-laws deaths and how the older people around here talk about the only time they see one another is at funerals.
