Best I can figure out is some type of swing clamp. Not sure what for though.
I was wondering whether that one was some type of old ball hitch that swivels, with the 'horseshoe' being for safety chains connections, but what the fook do I know?

Leave it open.....

we need rain.....
Too late. Dad said rain rolled through Ozark area yesterday afternoon. Sister lives there and was talking about how hard it was coming down. Luckily had a couple caulking tubes of roofing cement to help reseal the ones I lifted. Older part of the house was built super cheap. Thin three ply for the sheeting.

@Workshop If'n I read this right, Quick-lite of Nov 1924 variety. And the girls say hello, still want to give someone a bucket of range cubes and a head start just for the fun of it.

Wonder how hedge would hold up for a trailer floor?
I love the cow nose picture. 🙂

Dunno about hedge for trailers, in fact all my first hand knowledge of hedge is confined to milling one 6" log 3' long.......however that was enough to convince me that the stuff has a serious attitude.

Matt has milled some and had some nice boards from it. Not sure how it would be, sticky white sap that will get on everything when cutting fresh logs but hard and tough when dried. Lasts forever in the ground with no rot or bugs. You ever want to play with it let me know. Plenty to cut here.
It even has the pump! The pumps worth almost as much as the lantern.
Can't remember what family member had this one originally. Picked it up from grandmothers brothers place after he died to keep it from being thrown away.

Lots of fence posts in that pile, if they are long enough.
