Get that separator rebuilt &
get you a Guensey , they are high volume producers, far less temperamental than Holsteins.

They have big teats as well. I occasionally milked a Jersey for a neighbor, talk about a slow process.

I don’t have any experience with Brown Swiss so I can’t speak to their temperament or production volume.

We've always had jerseys.... never been around a Guernsey, holsteins are morons in my experience.....I milked one for a lactation when I was in my teens.....we eat her.
We've always just used a jar to make butter, a separator would be dandy if you was milking more than a couple cows.

New guy here, raised in OK, now in MO. Just found this forum, wound up buying another chainsaw after reading here, a Stihl 462.

I don't cut enough to need mods but I would like a lighter bar now for my other saw, a 391. Is it worth the 170 for Stihl or are there other good options? I need another 25 inch one but not having much luck figuring out what is what.

Thanks.

Stihl bars are worth it.......to me.
Welcome

Tsumara & Sugi-Hara make excellent lw bars. I haven’t bought one for a couple years so I don’t know what the prices are like.

@MG2186 sells Tsumara bars. You could send him a pm & he will get back to you.

So are Tsumara and Sugihara. And I have bought bars and chains from MG2186. He is good to deal with...

We had a neighbor that milked 50-60 Jerseys, another one milked 50-60 Holsteins.

We tried milking a couple Holsteins but ended up just using them for nurse cows for bucket calves.

I made butter for a science project once. That was a lot of shaking.

Mother ended up finding a 1 gallon jar with an electric paddle mounted to the lid. Much more easier.

We would get about 8 gallon of milk a day from a Guernsey.
