G-Mornin' folks, 66f and 88% muggyness to start the outside day. We got a second batch of moistures starting near dusk last evening totaling 0.8", and that was in addition to Sunday evenings 0.47" also a near sunset drenching.
So with a couple of days of liquid moonshine today were expecting near 86f with the a good bit of residual humidity.
That’s good that you missed those nasty storms last night. Looked ugly up north.

Belle of Georgia. I can eat a dozen of these straight from the tree. Need to get a few more trees to replace some that have died from the weather. Can't wait to retire so I have the time to work at home. This never knowing when I will get done is for the birds.
I haven’t looked to closely at my tree to see if I have any peaches.

It had a dozen or so blooms but as usual it blooms then gets frosted so I don’t usually look to closely to keep my disappointment level down.

I have had peaches from it once.

My buddy’s wife gave me an orange from their greenhouse. It was pretty tasty. She said she got 6 oranges this year.

That’s ok, you all can grow great sweet corn.

You just need a bigger crew. Between footing and floor there is 67 yards in my shop. Hired it done just to be done with it, but I would have done it myself in three different pours. Put 19 yards under my house addition with minimal crew.

Morning all. Things are drying out here, need some moisture in the area. Met state patrol running back roads at high speed with lights and no siren while I was working. Apparently 22 year old motorcycle driver was running dirt roads too fast and was killed when he failed to navigate a T-intersection. No skid marks at all anywhere from what I could tell. Launched himself through a ditch and a fence. Looks almost like a deer trail where he went through. I see people driving too fast all the time and they can't understand that it will catch up to them.

They watch too many movies, and think they can do it too...

Just looked up the story and apparently he had not been heard from since Sunday afternoon. Farmer found him in his hay field yesterday. I'm trying to remember if I drove that road on Monday now.

Looks like 1.37” overnight here.

Glad I got the lawn mowed yesterday, it was getting rather hairy.
Need to chop ours again today, and it was mowed Saturday evening.
With the lightning included with the 4 rain events (4.7+ inches) in the last 9 days, it really seems like it got a big shot on nitrogen, at least judging by the current growth spurt.

Probably a good idea to cut long here as rather smokey till at least Saturday, and no rain in the next 7 days, per our local guessers.

Just heard that about 1700 folks in our county are without power. I guess they are saying that power should be restored in town (about 1000 pop. ) about 3:00pm.

At least it’s not another scorcher today.

I knew it was pretty noisy early this morning.

My power must of flickered but not much else. Fortunately we are on a local rural cooperative, great service & maintenance.

The city always seems to have issues a couple times a year, they are on the end of the line & don’t get much attention.

Poor county & poor community, Mid-American power company doesn’t really give a rat azz. The town signed a 99 year agreement with them several years ago. Mid-Am has them over a barrel.

Sounds like 5:00pm for power restoration in town.

No banking, gas or groceries.

Kind of amusing to see folks at the pumps trying use their cards to get gas. Probably wouldn’t be too amused if I was out of gas but that’s why I try to keep 10 gallon on hand.

I thought the grocery store had a generator but I guess I was mistaken. Lots of spoiled food there. I was wanting some fruit & salad stuffs but I guess I will wait & go else where.

I bet the local convenience store addicts are getting the shakes. Lol.

My dad drove 25 miles to another town to get his morning soda fix, a Diet Coke from the fountain machine.
