City has been pretreating the streets for the predicted snowfall. They use a beet juice formula that works well. [emoji106]

Bit the bullet and ordered a coil for this last MS201t.

Rebuild has gotten way out of hand. It still needs a working chainbrake/clutch cover to boot . [emoji37]

It works well on the streets but salt coated in beet juice you almost have to shovel out of a hopper trailer, then go wash the nasty chit out or nothing slides out for a week or more.

A lot of landscaping companies use it, I suppose the pretty purple color helps with sales.

Any of you folks got any ideas for getting rid of mole & gopher infestations. The only thing I can think of is poison peanuts.
It’s been suggested, prior to my appointment as trustee that spraying to kill grubs & such would help with slowing them down.

We have township cemetery that is pretty bad shape from them.

First thing is eliminate their food supply.
I.E. grubs and such.

I figured that would be a good starting point but the other trustee is doing some asking around also.

We are a trustee down, the other chap is in the Crowbar Inn for awhile. He is only mildly cantankerous on the best of days, hopefully he gets voted out this fall.

Killing grubs is hard to do and they (the grubs) will eventually come back; and, you still have live moles & gophers. My advice, trap them and kill them, no coming back from that. I have paid a guy to trap them before, but there are some videos on you tube on how to trap them; it looks easy.

two Jack russell tarriors,

Good idea. I found/rescued a dog about 18-20 months ago; she is a heinz 57 but may be part rat terrier. I had a mole problem in the back yard. Last count was 8-9 dead moles on the back porch or driveway; no more mole problem in the back yard.

That!

School grounds across the street had a huge colony until some kind soul sprayed for grubs. Consequently the moved over to our yard. [emoji90]

Weather report shows three more days of winter and then we will have spring, again.

Wife spread lime on yard. Drove out the grubs,
moles left.
Rat terrier did a # on em too. Looked like he was having a stroke. Wouldn’t move his feet but swaying, twisting around to listen. Then jump up & spike his front feet in the ground & start digging. Had a pretty good success rate but the Lime finished em off.

A friend used to sell a device for moles and gophers and it was called The Rodenator. There are a few brands available, all the same concept. Basically, a wand with a spark plug at the end and a hose to a LP tank. Stick the wand in the burrow, give it some gas and with your back to it, press the spark button. BOOM. It blows up all the burrows and collapses them so another one doesn't move in afterwards. The concussion gets the rodents, and I've seen videos of gophers flying up out of the ground which is quite therapeutic actually!
Of course, there are vids on YT but I don't know how to post them.
