Got its new chain from the *s-word loops...
Carlton chain is about as refined as a moldboard plow, but can’t bring myself to not use it up.

It's like a work truck not a hopped up sports car.

Durability is fine..

But the cutters and chassis are never gonna be anything other than a plow..

So we’ll use it up and call it a day.. a fella could use Carlton all day, every day and be fine.. it just ain’t slick. Or fast..

But it is or was reasonably priced. I was buying it for half price of Stihl & a couple bucks a loop less than Oregon. That’s what got me going on it & it seemed to have the same durability as Stihl.

If you can’t work your voodoo magic on it & make it fast then I’d say it’s got no hope of ever being fast.

I never could get it to cut as good either. Even with my logger round file sharpening. But as you say it is durable.
