We tried that. Problem is, the lime content is so high in the city water I started getting a lime buildup on the condensers.:eek::eek:
These thing were long past there usable life. The lime build up could of been helping them thats how crappy they were.

Quality of the ribs and baked beans at Ameristar casino buffet has fallen off lately.[emoji22]
I can no longer claim that it is the best.[emoji24]

Jack Stack's??
Or a secret honey hole?

Not as good as the price IMO. Oklahoma Joe's is better again in IMO .

I agree with Kenneth about Jack Stacks. It is a "ritzy" bbq restaurant (nice, but not my style). I would add, I was down right disappointed in their ribs and brisket. However, Jack Stack's burnt ends were amazing (I should have listened to the waiter) and the beans were the best I ever had,,,,star of the show. Sam had lamb ribs that were really good also. Their sauce is disgusting IMO. If I ever go back, it will be burnt ends and beans for me.

My secret honey hole is SLAP's BBQ (as in Squeal Like A Pig). A hole in the wall---seats 15 people or so. Their ribs are the best I have ever had, burnt ends are top shelf, as well as the pulled pork. Their beans were really good and they serve a homemade potato casserole, as a side, that is off the charts. You order in line, like a Subway, and the food is brought out to you on plastic treys covered in wax paper. The sauce was different than what I am used to. Sauce was definitely adequate, but honestly, I could have eaten everything without sauce. All my family agreed it was the best we ever had (ate at Jack Stack's the night before).

Howdy gents.

Nancy and I just got back from the visitation for a friend who died in a motorcycle wreck. Glad to be on this side of the dirt, yes indeed. I took my step-daughter up to KU for her orientation, then rode my bicycle to an appt across town, for my heat-treating session, then got home and started taking apart the 076 corrosion special. It looks like I'll be able to salvage the case after all, with some serious scraping and the old reliable JB Weld. Does anyone have experience using the zinc chromate primer on corroded magnesium?

I will have to try that. Thomas

You WILL NOT be disappointed.

The ribs and potato casserole are a must. If you can work in the pulled pork, burnt ends and beans, that will be a bonus. There were 5 of us and we didn't eat lunch, so we ordered a slab of ribs, pound of burnt ends, pound of pulled pork, a sausage or 2 and sides. So everybody got to try everything. All that was left were bones.

If it is good zinc primer and u bead blast the magnesium preferably then you shouldn't have a problem. The zinc primers I've sprays are good stuff. Is there any reason u r wanting to use a zinc primer instead of a good epoxy?

I read on a thread that was the stuff to use. Any way I can get away with not bead blasting it? I do not want to take it all apart....

Would the JB go right on the zinc or epoxy primer, or can it go right on the metal?

As long as it is clean and dry u can prime it. I really like a good epoxy for most things. Seems to have a better adhesion. And put ur jb weld direct to the metal.
