I would think that would contribute. I'm wondering if something has got between the needle and seat.

How far is the tune? The heat could be forcing the seat open if the tank vent has started to stop up.

My 394 has been doing the same thing Doug. I replaced the fuel line, filter, carb kit, and retuned.. to no avail.... Still acts weird but idles a lot better now. Still floods when hot......

Mine was that accordion style fuel line from tank to carb. Was cracked but hard to find.
Was acting same way.

A little construction on I35 south of Des Moines but not bad. Way better than it was. The guys made good time going down to Texarkana this week. Don't know about Illinois

Make sure that you replace the fuel line with OEM or the problem will return.

I been using Echo brand line for all that don't take a molded fuel line
