Nope. All we want is the flywheel to stay put and not cause trouble.

Made a longer key. Internal star lockwasher and blue Locktite.

Alan's work is top notch! I dropped my 562 off Saturday! Super excited to see the finished results!

Has anybody heard from Thomas?? I'm a little worried that Alanah's cats may have killed him!

Model 917 is built by Roper. One of my favorites.
It says Simpson on it, but doesn't say Roper anywhere?
When I first saw it it said Roper to me. I had a guy at Old Threshers tell me it was a Simpson and found it when I googled. Are Roper and Simpson then same?

Not sure on that. Might be. I know looking at Sears manufacturing codes. 917 shows Roper.

Yep it's me! You guys have started something that I don't believe there is a cure for! Lol! I was out sharpening a chain on this 346 to get me by. Lol. Gotta get me a chain grinder. This file is for the birds. Lol.

Thanks Carl! I will try that.

I had a Hoffco 480 in a similar situation. Someone had put the starter together backwards and lost the dog. Had to buy an entire starter just for the engagement bits.

IIRC that Hoffco came in second in the vibration contest. The Poulan 47 would have made a fine paint shaker, just add tie down straps.[emoji21]

I made it home in record time (just over 4 hours). Felt like crap ever since. Laid on the couch almost all day, took lots of medicine, and took a long nap. Start to think I feel better then start feeling sick again.
