Morning all, cold again with a 35° start so far. Supposed to make it mid 60's today. Going to go to Joplin and spend a little cow money with a surprise for the boy after lunch. Fire lit and coffee right now though. Going to have to watch the blackstone a bit. Seems to be a gas hungry cooker, either that or I am preheating too much.

Oh, and I have way too many chains..

Spent 2 hours just measuring and gauging chains then labeling the hook they went on.

I even found 3 / .325 / .063 chains for a 20” bar…. Who does that??

I think .325, .063 is a Stihl thing, or it used to be

I want to share a testimony:

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." It seems pretty straight forward because it is. But I never fully understood that scripture until now. Since my Dad passed I have experienced this promise from Jesus. I have found great comfort with all of the people who reached out to me, all the people praying for me, all the kind words and stories about my Dad; and most of all, knowing my Dad is home with Jesus, no longer suffering. I think about him a lot; more than when he was here. I have prayed and asked God to bless all of the people who prayed for me and my family. If you are one of those, expect to be blessed. Have a good day.

Morning everybody.
Made a trip yesterday to visit my Aunt in Lee’s Summit yesterday. She is the last of my maternal Grandmother’s children. My mom was the oldest. 18 years between them.
She gave me this picture. My mother on the left. Her brother, Arnold, on the right. I never got to meet Arnold. He was killed on the island of Luzon in the Philippines in WW2. April 1945. 19 years old. He is buried in the national cemetery in Springfield, Mo along with 2 other of my relatives.

You running an18” or 20” on it?

Usually if ya step up to a 20”, it’s 3/8’s time.
20" 81 DL

I run 20" as a personal preference for reach in limbing, but rarely for full capacity cutting bigger wood.

.325 full comp, I like for it's smoothness in small wood.

These are my preferences based on my understanding......which is likely enough limited.

My chainsaw experience began at around age 15 with a 2100CD running a 36" bar cutting anything from 6' diameter monsters down to pencil size brush.....cause that's the saw we had.

Idk....maybe I'm warped. Lol

More reach ain’t crazy.

I seem to recall a couple guys who were big fans of using .325. .063 on their 36” bars for chainsaws milling.
But they weren’t normal…

Tony lost his house in a fire around the beginning of the year.
Then he had a head-on collision just recently.
He no longer has the device he used to access the forum, because of the fire.
That is why you haven't seen any of his posts.
😥
WHAT's up ? NO FUNDRAISER? Let's get him a "device" at least. I Learnt from my DAD that most folks can't be happy if they don't have something to complain. about. If he is posting there is the possibility that he will goof up and post something we can complain about and then feel better. I am not rich but will try to participate if someone gets the ball ROLLING.
