How is the back? I have a little twinge from moving wood around yesterday and it made me think to ask about yours.26 supposed to hit 57 .Summer is over
Don’t help your bar now, but for future reference, American Elm generally, can’t barber chair. This was a decent size elm with a heavy lean. I did a face cut, went to the back cut, the tree laid down with no barber chair. I kept easing into the back cut trying to release the tree from the stump: big mistake. The tree released, all the tension from the limbs on the ground shot the tree back 4-5', bent my bar, kinked the chain, broke a tooth off the chain! Fortunately, the tree went away from me

Is the bar fixable?Don’t help your bar now, but for future reference, American Elm generally, can’t barber chair.
For the same reason ya can’t hardly split em.
When are we gathering at your place to eat?
How?I think it can be rendered usable again.
Will try to remember that!SOP here with top heavy learners, is to cut just enough to sit the top on the ground but leave the trunk attached to the stump.
Then go pick at the top till it’s lighter. Release the trunk as late in the process as possible, once you can determine the direction of the roll.
Same with blow downs..
