Phase one hedge deck with walnut in lays done.
Build second set of steps tomorrow..

Should the hand rails be out of walnut? Or hedge? We are at an impass..
Looks great Matt 👍
Hedge is maybe more likely to give slivers than walnut? Idk, never worked with hedge.

Mornin all,
@Workshop how are you duin after the whole tick and hospital ordeal?
Not bad enough to keep from going back to work but thank goodness all I do is drive.
This tick thing really kicked me in the a$$. I wouldn’t recommend it personally. It’s being a slow process but at least it is getting better. Next time down to the stamp I may get me a flamethrower and do a scorched earth thing.

I just stay outta the grass/brush during tick season....there's just a bazillion ticks around here....plus ten times that many chiggers.

Goldie and I made a day trip to KC today to visit my Aunt. My Grandmother had 5 children, my mother the oldest and my Aunt the youngest by 18 years. Aunt is 84 years young and the only child left of my Grandmother. She’s getting ready to downsize to a smaller home in a retirement community and wanted us to come up so she could give us a few things. Got an old milk can and cream can that was at my Grandparents farm. My grandmother always had a large shallow wooden bowl next to the kitchen stove she always kept flour in ready to make the best biscuits on the planet. Close to 100 years old. Brought it home. One thing I didn’t know about was the Purple Heart my Grandmother received after WW2 for my Uncle Arnold posthumously. ( Didn’t bring it home). He was killed in April on the island of Luzon. He was 19.

He was part of the invasion of Luzon in January 1945 and had been part of advancing forces on the island.
I should clarify. He had married a local girl just a few months before being drafted and sent overseas. She is the one that received his Purple Heart. She gave it to my Grandmother.

Is there any method of controlling ticks and chiggers?

Spraying or broadcasting granular chemicals?

Just thinking of a small area, ie The Stamp
