Don’t you mean new toys to break?
I can neither confirm or deny this statement.

You can always go back to cutting the pockets out of you pants for a while to get by.
Well played. That made we laugh

I don’t know a thing about saw mill sizes but why don’t you buy a great big used one with a junk engine and install a 302 or 351W in it. Get some serious power then. Blueprint and balance it so you can run it about 7k rpm. Be sure to keep a safe distance from the saw blade though.
That is what I am talking about!!!!!

Get used to it..

I got plans… and sawmill purchase is third on the list…
May take 6-8 months to come to fruition…

I need to borrow your tractor in the mean time...

This is a very good idea. 🙂
^^^^He gets it...

@Sawdust Man…
How are the sharpened bands cutting for you?

And now to answer your question.....

So how are the home sharpened bands performing?

Patience @ matt.....I'm a slow speller....

Between not sawing a lot lately, and running on new blades I have stocked up, I haven't run enough home sharpened blades to give you a very useful answer....unfortunately.
I did up 15 for a guy the other day and so far now feedback on those either.
I know from past experience with running thousands of home sharpened blades that they can cut every bit as well as new-uns....whether the equipment I have now is capable of that remains to be seen.
I sharpened two of my blades Saturday, so I'll try to run them in the next few days and report back to ya.

Do you set them also?

.025 on the top and bottom “allegedly “are the target.

I sharpen *s-word….

But not band saw bands..

Yes I do re set em, and yes .025 is about right.

I'm trying to get away with a pretty casual setting process...probably not going to be good enough, but I want to be a sloppy as I can.... in the interest of time and frustration.
