When I was about 8 my dad caught me coming back home with the push mower. He asked where I'd been. I said that I just cut the neighbor's yard for her. He asked if she paid me. Well yeah, she gave me 3 bucks. He took one of my dollars for using his mower. He told me that if I was going to mow the neighbor's grass I needed to get my own mower. So I did....

How long are your logs you are cutting? Any standard length you prefer? Say if you are cutting to 10' finish what are you looking for in a rough trunk size.
I like a minimum of 4" extra length per log for shorter stuff, and up to 8"-12" on longer stuff.
Anything that's likely to be ran through a planer will be messed up on both ends.....usually about 2.5" per end gets "sniped" so the extra will be trimmed off after all the screwing up gets done to it.

Gotta say…

I’ve never seen anything like that..

What the hell happened to that band?
It takes years of practice......lol.

Kinda a long story......
But basically, I put a (very) dull blade on to try to keep sawing while Tom was retrieving a sharp one.

This one actually rolled into the pond after being born today. Fortunately, the kids found it and pulled it out. Dried it off and returned it to mama..
Good to see it survived.

We had a cow stumble into a pond while we were trying to walk it to the catch pen with a calf sticking out of it. Glenda held the cow's head out of the water while I pulled the calf. Wildest one yet for us.

Already 31° this morning. Trying to do a little rewire on the flatbed trailer. Laying in the snow takes a bit out of a person. Tail lights are done and all that it lacking is the brakes and markers lights. Brakes will be done today along with the rear marker, but the sides may wait for a drier and warmer day.

Planning to do a little cleaning up at some point and was thinking of saving some things for you and Matt to play with. Probably not going to be much in one sense, but if you are traveling through the area at some point I might send some home with you.
