We sorted & hauled off my dad & brothers calves today. I think there was around 175. I went pretty well except for one calf going nuts & trying to run us down & go thru/over/under all the corral fences.

It was so dusty loading the last two trailers, I couldn’t even see the calves until I was right on them, fortunately I didn’t get blasted by any flying hooves.

I got to be the stopper when moving the cows & bulls back. 115 or so in this bunch.

The cows found some grass!

Ours has given up. I’m thinking we could get some good rain at this point it’s about too late for it to do any good..
There may be guys hauling water to cows this winter.

Sure hope you folks get some rain soon.

It’s always a slow go moving them down the road, they stall out grazing the road ditches.

The guessers are talking about 1/2” possibly tonight. The benefit will be to add some moisture so we can develop a frost layer. As dry as it is now water lines freezing is areal possibility here. Fortunately my dad & brother only have two small pastures that they have to haul water to when it’s dry but there are a lot of folks that will be hauling water.
