He has a truck and is leased out. I have no idea what he makes. It sounds like he is gone most of the time.

I get the urge to dump the high insurance premiums.. I’ve had those thoughts..
Only way to mitigate it a little is to not “over insure” and set a really high deductible..

We call it “smoke and rubble” policy.

Hopefully he can rebuild soon.

Mine went up by $800 this year. Costs me nearly $3K...
I have $1500 deductible, but they just changed the wind and hail deductible to be a percentage of the repair. We got a new roof and gutters last year. I hope we don't have to touch it for a long time.

We had about 220k coverage on our house structure with 1k deductible. 150lk on contents replacement. The roof replacement is prorated over 20 years and it was replaced just a few years ago. So, all in all, we paid the 1k deductible plus $900 for the roof proration. $1900 out of our pocket, technically. (We actually used insurance money we had already received. ) Cost to rebuild the house structure, final bill, was $197k. Contents coverage, replacement value, came to $144k on top of the structure cost.
There’s 2 different types of contents coverage.
Regular and Replacement coverage. You want the second one. TV’s depreciate over 5 years. They won’t pay anything if it 5 years or older. Refrigerators depreciate over 10 years so they won’t pay anything on a 10 year old fridge.
We had replacement value on our contents. Insurance paid for replacing 3 refrigerators, a freezer, a kitchen stove, living room furniture, television, surround sound system plus all the little stuff we had collected over 45 years of marriage.
We had contacted our insurance agent before the fire department had left the scene. Within 2hrs they deposited $5k into our account so we could get clothes, food and other stuff we needed right then. Red Cross deposited $500 to us. My employer at the time Fedxd a $500 Walmart gift card to us.
We were very blessed. But the real blessing came from my friends here.

I Thought about put out some tomatoes glad I waited
The last couple of years I've been repotting to larger containers and planting later.
Reason being there is a very large silver maple that sheds it's twirlies close by.
It's way easier to rake the twirlies off the top of the tilled and prepped soil while the dam things are dropping for 2 or 3 weeks rather than picking them up every day.

Morning folks, if the fresh new buds & blooms didn’t get frosted off this morning it isn’t looking to promising for tomorrow or Sunday morning.
This time of year is always a little tense..

You want the wheat to be robust, but about middle April, there's always a threat of frost, and I've seen 19 degrees turn a beautiful wheat field into wilted lettuce...

Something followed me home last night. Don't need it but the price was right for the shape it is in. '95 model, solid and needs only the basics. If dad doesn't want it, it may find a new home. Going to clean it up over the next week or so.

They are really nice boats. I had a 97 a few years ago. Could never get the motor to run properly so i decided to send it down the road versus putting any more money into it. I do miss it

Are you liking the 550? And is it a MK2?
Yes, and yes.
Bought it new about a year ago (from Bruce/HL supply).

It's a great saw, it handles really well and has very good power.
My only real gripe is sometimes it's finicky to restart after running out of gas.....at least compared to my m-tronic saws.

In reality, for most or what I do I could throw away all my other saws and I'd be good with just the 550.
