Yesterday was productive..

Made about a cord of wood and just cleaned *s-word up generally.

Made some bulk kindling out of some boards from the reject board pile.

I'm glad somebody got stuff done...I cut one log... and it only made 3 sellable boards...

But, it was excellent weather anyway.

It really was..

I found a little gem it the firewood logs..

An 8’ long, relatively straight, cedar log.

I may put it on the mill today and make some trim

Much the same at the other place for us, did a one day project run.
Went from stuff cut a couple of weeks ago.

To some nice splits in seasoning stage. About 1.5 cords.

And covered just before some snows showed up last evening.

Very good day overall. Feeling a little bit of the burn yet today from the exercise yesterday.. Dang, I'm almost liking it.

We raised draft horses when I was young. Could feel the house shake as the herd ran by on the way to the cornfield across the road. Bad way to wake on a summer day.

Found a 12” wide piece of white oak in the scrap pile yesterday..
It was 2” thick, so I chunked a 2’ section off of it and ran it through the planer..
Been using it as a cutting board all day.

While 2023 was a little rough it ended well. Goldie and I are back home and my children and grandchildren came home for Christmas.
