Yes, I expect they will be a real mess.

As requested.
The only dry slabs I’ve been able to make useable have been 3” thick. Because I had to put them back on the mill and “true” them to 2” after all the cup and warp..

Let him know as soon as those things hit close to 20%, don’t try to get em dry...

Just build and seal them up so they can’t dry out any more.
Or at least it’ll take 10 years to slowly dry.

He is going to be very disappointed...

Oak slabs are some of the worst..

Make sure he keeps them in the dark, and seal them up best he can.

If he try’s to get them dry, they will behave very badly.

Yup, that log was pretty cracked up before it even hit the mill.

Good morning folks. Seems I should do some yard work earlier today, as we are claimed to be getting a couple of days of wet stuffs.

Worked on OPE and did some caulking on an updated garage furnace installation that the dual wall exhaust pipe was replaced with one a bit longer, as last years snow got to close to blocking for my comfort.

Correct.
After 30 plus years of custom milling, I've adopted a policy of not criticizing customer's logs...they sometimes are very sensitive about such things.
On the other hand if someone really wants to know what I think of their garbage logs, I'll tell em like it is.
