Any idea why air is coming out of this area on my impact wrench? Is it fixable? Worth fixing?

I think fixing it is a no go for me. It is an old craftsman. I looked up the model number. It appears no parts are available and parts are no longer made.

It is not leaking from the threads as far as I can tell. But, putting on Teflon tap is in my wheel house

Looks more like it needs unmangled. As a metal worker, I'd advise placing it over solid surface and heal and toe across the high spots flip over and repeat on the other high spots. May not be perfect but will improve situation
Even the gravel track behind may be firm enough to do you good
