When ya plan to fire it?
It is lit now. Waiting for it to come to temp and then I can turn the pump back on.
The water started out at fifty some degrees, and it is up to around ninety now.
I will be up a little later than normal monitoring tonight...

Sweet! Heated outhouses are great. Flies can live year around.

Good morning.
The fire went out in the night (not uncommon before you get some ash buildup in the bottom to insulate the coals).
Got it going again around 5:30 this morning.
I am having a problem with the low water sensor. It thinks it is out of water, so I have to keep the sensor bypass on. Hopefully that will be a simple fix.
It is really nice to be able to check the furnace from my phone.

It also has a history view that graphs the temperature out as well.

Looks complicated to me; consider the source though...

Very cool Jason!

How often does the PH of the water need to be checked? I know that is vital to a long healthy life of the system.

Also did you use 100% water or did you add glycol?

And what is reaction chamber % tell you?
I used softened water that tested at 7.0 PH.
I added 1 gallon of the treatment that CB sells for their boilers. I have to test the ph, the moly-b ppm level, and pull a water sample to send in to CB after 24 hours of running.
After that, I am supposed to check the ph once a year or anytime I have to add water to the system.

I am not totally clear on the reaction percentage yet. My understanding is that it is showing the percentage of the burn that is taking place in the reaction chamber vs the firebox. 100% is telling me that the secondary burn is bringing the lower chamber to its full efficiency temperature.
This is my current understanding.

Im staying inside for the most part. I have 2 015 top handles that need a little work. One needs pawls and springs. The other ran just fine several years ago so ill just clean it up.

A belated Happy birthday to Tony.

There's wrecks on the highways today. Probably just going to get worse tonight. 0 degrees and gusts to 50mph.
