Picked up a nice load of lumber today. Gotta go back and get some more. Over 40 20’ 2x4. Another 20 16’ 2x4 over 40 7/16 osb and some havco trailer flooring for my utility trailer.

A few things:

What are you building?

Are all those Dodge's dead, or alive?

Is your soil as sandy as it looks? It seems strange for middle America.

Is there any practical use for that stuff?
Not really when you have as much as I do.
It's too much carbon for garden dirt, takes way too long to decompose.
I've been burning it, just to make it go away.
If a guy had a bunch of straight cedar sawdust maybe somebody would want it for horse stalls or something, idk.

I ain't never tried it for that... we'll have to give it a shot.
Fair warning... if you want the stuff you surround it with dead, go for it..
fresh sawdust sucks all the nitrogen out of the ground to decompose, then gives it back slowly once decomposing.. in the meantime, the rose bush dies...
Lol

Ask me how I know..

Well some of the lumber is for my shop to line the walls with. The 20’ 2x4 are for a chicken house trusses I have to build 30x60. Got some advantec in there to build a new chicken coop for next year, and the havco laminated oak boards are for my 18’ utility trailer.

The dodges are all alive and well. Lol

And yes. The sandiest blow sand you’ve seen. This property was a sand quarry back in the 40-50s there is another sand quarry 500 yards from my current location. Supplies all the concrete companies within many miles around here.

Are you raising chickens for eating, eggs, or both?

more pics of the dodges when you have time…

I bet that sand blown into the bark of the trees does wonders on a chain, yes?

With that much blow sand around, you may be standing on ground zero when the NewMadrid fault cuts loose again... lol
