We have a similar problem with some film coming in on 150mm i.d. cores vs the 6 that we are set up for. This pos I freshened up from the bosses cabin makes a quick and dirty fix.

Bishops in Perry, KS has a saw with a hellasous long bar (8’ ?) that was used to trim off the damaged end of paper rolls that suffered flood damage.

A roll found a leak in the roof years ago and swelled and popped. Now we throw tarps over rolls in problematic rows. I guess that's one way to fix a leak.
