So I went out yesterday evening to take some trees down along a fence line, first tree was a 10”dia Honey Locust. I get my notch cut out & ants start pouring out, I just chuckled & thought they would need a new home, back cut & down it went. Suddenly there was more bumble bees than ants, apparently they had a nest in the tree also. o_O I caught two buzzing my head while I was scooting on down the fence line, fortunately I didn’t get stung but they were still pissed this morning. Glad I have a 30’ chain to drag it out of the way.

That’s always a nice surprise for sure!

I'd save that for winter.

Looks good! Hard to beat good sweet corn!

I usually eat 3-4 ears to a sitting...

Peak condition sweet corn is like a home grown tomato.. just can’t be duplicated..
Ya gotta grow it and pick it when it’s ready.

That tail was nowhere in sight five weeks ago when she came to live with us.

All of these squash came from seeds I held back from a picture perfect spaghetti squash I ate last year.
It was such a perfect specimen, I saved the seeds from it... lesson???
The guy that grew original squash, grew summer, spaghetti, and zucchini all in the same patch...

Fine for him, but *f-worded up for future generations....

Thought maybe that was a packet of China seeds you planted!

Very interesting.

I here tell if you plant jalapeno's adjacent to some other plants they
will end up with a slight heat content just from growing next to the jalapeno's.

Can anyone confirm or deny this rumor from first hand knowledge?

And by the way Happy Friday galley slaves, as the infamous Carl would say:

Get to rowing!

Made it down to the postage stamp a couple of hours ago. Last 10 miles, or so, the transmission was getting sketchy in the GTG van.
We'll just have to see how things go. My kids are aware of the predicament and are standing ready to bring me home and come back with a truck to pull my flat bed trailer home with Sunday. Might have to leave the van here. I'll know more in a couple of hours. Let it cool down and test drive it a bit.
