Any of you ever fool with ms271
I've got a guy that has to have his rebuilt for sentimental reasons, piston scored 50 psi
What class of saw are these seem different to me and no videos of them hardly

Jason at Jack Horners cautioned me to steer clear of them.

I did fix a 270 however.

One just left my shop.
They’re like the bastard spawn between an ms250 and a ms280...

They are smoother than a farm boss but less power.
I gave that one yesterday all the fuel the metal limiter’s would allow me and it needed more without question. If Charles uses it as a limboing saw, it could last, but it’s life expectancy is low if used in extended cuts and a semi dull chain.

I’m gonna make up a battery box for the splitter..
Gonna hang it in the back, under the work table.

Any suggestions as to where to ground it at?
Should I run the ground cable all the way up to the motor mount? Or just anchor it in the beam by the battery?

I'd think the most out of the way spot as possible.

The beam will be fine.
Like Kyle said, getting a solid and clean connection is the important part.
DeOx, or some type of anti oxidant grease is very helpful.

Hook it up wherever you want then do a voltage drop test across the connection. If you've got under 200mV cranking, you're good to go.

I put electric start on mine. I just ran a couple longer wires off the starter and just touch em to the battery and then set the battery outta the way! That's kinda cobbling it up but don't have to worry about damage. Charge battery maybe once a year! Poor logger guy way I guess!
