Completely understandable. But it is Lecompton so they could have ticks in church.
With natural gas being a by product of shale oil, it's all of the sudden a prudent thing to generate electricity with it.4 13800 hp CATs. Natural gas powered. 20 cylinders. 10 megawatts each.![]()

I'm used to seeing coal fired plants for that task.
Ours at work uses about 55 gallons per hour. 2500 gallon tank. Cat 3412. 800 kw.
Me too. I didn’t know natural gas was even an option
We have a couple plants towards you guys that are natural gas.Me too. I didn’t know natural gas was even an option
I've been at this building for 15+ years now and we've actually used the generator for its intended purpose a max of 3 times. The most we've had to run it at one time was about 24 hours and fueled up about half way through that time span. Mainly because it started out at about 3/4 full. Then after we got things under control and repaired we had it topped up again. We start it once a week to excercise the engine and load it once a month. It's actually too small for the building. If we loose power (which is unlikely because we have 2 substations hooked into a transfer switch. We run on one substation, if the power so much as blinks it switches to the second substation. When the transfer switch see normal steady power from the first station it switches back. To the untrained eye, you'll never notice this transfer.) The generator only runs emergency lighting throughout the building and supplies power to the UPS system that powers the phone system and the computer system . It's not connected to the building air conditioning. I keep waiting for the power to go down on a hot August day. It'll be miserable in that building. That’s some expensive electricity. Do you have a tanker truck refuel every 36-40 hours if needed?
