Should have got the Siberian the brought them over here! Like a lot of other non-native trees that are brought over for landscaping!
Now those, are some good firewood!!Wish the red elm would sprout up. They are few and far between.
Rich McConnell sure did like them. He had some growing on his place, but the ones he showed me fell over less than a foot thick. Nice burning wood, just had a pleasant feel and smell to it. Hard to describe.Wish the red elm would sprout up. They are few and far between.
I cut up one out of the neighbor's yard that was over 20 inches. Most are 5 to 10.Yep! That red elm gets about 5 inches in diameter at the most and dies around here anymore! Damn good firewood though!
Best thing about them is no splitting.Yep! That red elm gets about 5 inches in diameter at the most and dies around here anymore! Damn good firewood though!
I found that red splits pretty nicely, though. Lot better than that smelly stringy stuff.Best thing about them is no splitting.
yes it is.If you catch it when the bark slips off there's no cleaner wood than that and hardly any ashes!
YepThanks, Cobey. I don’t want to see him go the way of my mom, who was the personification of anathema maranatha if ever there was one. Bad business, that.
He’s not quite as hostile as she was, but those intellectual types can get stuck in the cognitive to the point the spirit starves out and they can’t see it. .
