Keep an eye on the paint chips. I have seen these load trail dump trailers up here and know a guy that owns one and the paint they use sucks ballz. My friend who owns one is already looking at selling his as the trailer is pretty much down to the bare metal even on the exterior of the dump box. I know they all will do this over time but I’ve seen older ones in better condition paint wise.

Supposedly it’s powder coated, but it does seem a bit soft. I do like this part, though.

I’ve ordered a couple D rings because the welded on ones are not where I want them. They’re on the corners and I need them three feet in, because logs and brush go to different places where we dump. I’ll coat, bolt, and reinforce the drilling site with a backing plate so as to not compromise strength.

OK, I'm trying to solve an issue with D ring accessibility. I want to use big webbing to raise the access point on the D rings so I can attach big ratchet straps at the edge of the bed rails rather than down low. In rock climbing we used a "water knot," which is an overhand knot with two pieces, considered strong enough for climb spec webbing. It is bulkier than I want, though. I want to see about hand sewing with nylon thread. THis is not for climbing, just for ratchet straps to cinch down and compress brush, and to hold logs in place at front of trailer while dumping off the brush. Can I just use a leather punch and leather needles? I found a source of nylon thread used for climb webbing. I know some guys like to make holsters, and maybe the same tools can work for this.

Hope your Friday was good. I am back on limited duty, worked five hours yesterday with an abdominal hernia girdle on my chest, and though a bit stiff this morning, am ready to keep after it. Have a good weekend!

I have no idea what they cost but what about having the system that a flatbed semi uses. It looks like a rail that hold the ratchet part so you can slide it where its needed.

I believe the Spartan is a better machine for equal money.

But I'm biased.
I'm still liking mine too. Wish I would've got the thicker deck though. I bent the discharge flopper when I bumped into a small cedar tree earlier this year. Had to tie it up out of the way.

Would that have the force bear on the top rail? The idea is to compress and hold the brush to the floor if the bed allowing me to put more on top. My partner can put more stuff on his flatbed trailer than I ever would have thought possible.
