Got it to work by filing a bit on the lever and a dab of Lubriplate.

Stihl ‘control shaft’ troubles is why Stihls are not keepers here.

Replaced the oil line on the CS60 today.
These saws are really nice but the Japanese must have hired someone with really tiny hands.
Almost like open heart surgery on a hamster.

Irritating problem with the 380.

AF cover ‘latch’ won’t fit over the pin in the air filter nut.[emoji90]

Tried two different af nuts so I’m sure it’s the latch at fault.

Anyone got an extra knob?

I've found that to be typical of the 028s especially, and some of the 038s. I do not have a solution.

Except to get mad. Then I run it without the cover, or tape it on with electrical tape. Or somethng equally unbefitting the mighty Über Alles.

Please tell us you heated the case to ease disassembly? I see the bearings are still on the crank.

What's the purpose of heating the piston and pin? Cleaning?

The aluminum piston expands at a greater rate than the steel pin. The pin slides in effortlessly with the piston hot and after the piston cools, it locks the pin into the piston pin bore.

As you can see, the pin was already partially in the piston and it wasn't going to move easily until the piston was heated.
