Farmertec 380 started on choke this morning. But, true to its heritage (Stihl), the choke flapper in the air filter needs help to close.[emoji35]
Dog knot on the control shaft slips by the flapper lever.
The Chinese are just dumb enough to copy it..Kind of a joke imo [emoji15]
But all makers do stupid stuff somewhere along the line. [emoji849]

I've found that to be typical of the 028s especially, and some of the 038s. I do not have a solution.Irritating problem with the 380.
AF cover ‘latch’ won’t fit over the pin in the air filter nut.[emoji90]
Tried two different af nuts so I’m sure it’s the latch at fault.
Anyone got an extra knob?
What's the purpose of heating the piston and pin? Cleaning?I never have been accused of being a good cook. My main purpose for a toaster oven.[emoji4]

I am tickled pink with this saw.Replaced the oil line on the CS60 today.
These saws are really nice but the Japanese must have hired someone with really tiny hands.
Almost like open heart surgery on a hamster.

Please tell us you heated the case to ease disassembly? I see the bearings are still on the crank.Project 390 disassembled!

The aluminum piston expands at a greater rate than the steel pin. The pin slides in effortlessly with the piston hot and after the piston cools, it locks the pin into the piston pin bore. What's the purpose of heating the piston and pin? Cleaning?

As you can see, the pin was already partially in the piston and it wasn't going to move easily until the piston was heated. So why heat the pin?
