'04 is a BEW engine. Replacement aftermarket oil pan is $45 from idparts.com. I have to replace one on '05 beetle due to previous owner having dealer change oil and someone stripped threads. Owner is a machine shop owner and re-tapped for next size thread, but there is not much meat on the threads.

Pan is easier than replacing a DSG when dual mass flywheel spring comes through housing.

Yes this is the bew if this one still leaks then I'll just replace it. And regarding the dual mass flywheel this one has been converted to a single mass flywheel. So shouldn't have that problem. That would be a bad day for sure!

You almost need a Lakewood scatter shield for that thing.
