Did you restore that saw, if so, did you use spray (can or gun) paint or powder coat?
I used an automotive acrylic urethane, matching the correct sheen was the tough part, most rattle cans or gloss clear coats are way shinier than the original paint job. I don't like that look

I agree, some end up looking really shiny and it does not fit a chainsaw. I think you have found the "just right" level of shiny!

I almost didn't see the sign :D
The best thing in the pic is overlooked......look behind the sign. Ole Penny girl was a faithful companion for many years. She passed in 2017 and I still miss her daily. As I type this on the dumb phone I am burning cedar trees in the cattle pasture that her and I spent every night in.

Ole Chip is with me right now but he is not as smart as she was.

@oologahan , it is neat to see your process for restoring a saw. I look forward to picking up tips and tricks from you. In regards to the painted cylinder, I thought that painting a cylinder would be a bad thing (you want to effectively heat transfer), but I was surprised when I saw that many McCulloch's have painted cylinders:

I supposed it didn't hurt the saws as I am sure they would not have painted them if it did. Though it may have been an efficiency/lazy thing they did as it appears that the saws got painted after most of it was assembled.

Pracowałem przy setkach Homelite'ów w latach 1964-1982 i nigdy nie widziałem pomalowanej cewki zapłonowej, może w przypadku niektórych nowszych modeli albo naprawdę starych?
I thought for a moment and it was the color yellow / Poulan or Partner
