What have ya'll paid for a non-running xp-1020? There is one local for $100 but seems high for an old non-runner.

I would probably look at it they are getting hard to find, but I would definitely pull the muffler and do a compression test before handing over any cash. If seller will not let me test or pull the muffler then I would pass because you can not tell engine health.

Guys there is this big auction by me this Friday and I went up there today to look around. Among other things is a blue xl automatic, couldnt see the number if it had one, and a 410 in descent shape. Are these saws worth putting money into? I used to have a 330 but I sold that a number of years ago before CAD crept in. I just want to have something to tinker with. Compression on both saws was acceptable with the pull rope method.

I can't comment on the 410 but the XL's are good saws. Parts shouldn't be much of an issue. If the XL is a points saw, great. If it has a blue module/coil instead of points, they are very prone to failure and expensive to replace. Make sure you take a plug with you to check for spark.

I had three 410's they are not bad saws just put together a little odd, they are a little heavy for a 68cc saw. the xl auto you should just send to me! lol they are a great classic saw. I have kept the xl-12's

That is awesome looking, really sets the saw off. That is a super clean blue and white one.

Yes it should be. It is the same as a xl-12 /super xl. The cylinder and crankcase are different but everything else is the same. That is a very clean looking one. That and the xl-500 are on my homelite bucket list.

This is the first one I've seen around here. Looking forward to getting it going!

I love the dual triggers both of the ones we have are the single ones.
