I don't think the ones on my saws look like that either. Been awhile since I looked at them.

The 925's had two different ignitions. A one piece solid state module and an earlier three piece CD ignition. That coil definitely looks like the coil DSCF2970.JPG from the three piece ignition in one of my saws.

Another saw I have has a coil that looks like this

DSCF2971.JPG

I'm wondering if the coil with the angled mount area was an attempt to get more cooling air to the cylinder area.

The picture showing 67164 is the coil on the first 925 saws. Part numbers 67162 in front of the coil and 67163 under the rotor, was the 3 piece ignition. A-02480 module replaced the 3 piece ignition in later XL-925.

So this is the right coil and part number??

Jasper,

Nice looking saw, I tried to buy another one a couple of weeks ago. Now you need the John Deere version.

To have John Deere one would be a real score. I am on the hunt for an air cleaner, choke knob, and bucking spikes for mine. It still has a homelite brand chain on it, from the looks of it it is very low time, maybe a couple tanks. If I can't find a bucking spikes I may have to come by and trace yours onto some cardboard for a pattern and make a set. I am hunting the bay for the other bits.

I have one in a box but don't wan't to part it out. I do have a MP88 here (demo version of the 8800) that is disassembled that I can check. Obviously no spike on that.

I am moving back to VA in 2 weeks and will be taking my daughter to college next Saturday. I will be off Friday, send me a text or give me a call.

Hi Homelite lovers,experts
I may have an opportunity to trade an extra 1130G i have for a 2000......
Not knowing a lot about either saws...is it a fair trade if condition of saws is similar?
Thanks Thomas

Isn't the 1130 a gear drive and 2000 direct?

If both are in equal condition the 2000 will have more value as long as the
piston is not scored. 1130's over the past few years have not been doing well
in sales. Don't know why but i have several and would sell one or two but
just can't get anything for them. They are great powerful saws and fun to
run. The 2000 can also be a fun saw to run although it's a direct drive saw
but with the 114cc's they pull very well.
