New-to-me Homelite C-51 'Convertable Drive'.

Did not look this clean when I found it, but looks complete after an initial clean up.

Mike Acres' site says produced 1964 - 1967; 4.7 cu. in. (77cc); this one has a 26" bar and Carlton .404 chipper chain. Weight is approximately 25 pounds (dry with bar and chains).

Has good compression, but I have not checked for spark yet, or tempted it with fuel.

Anyone know what the 'Convertable Drive' means?

Thanks

Philbert

Homelite sold a gear drive conversion kit for these saws.
That's why they where call convertibles.
