The 3000 is pretty small, about the size of a Mini Mac, and lightweight. I like it better than the later types with the air filter at the back.

Didn’t check compression but it feels good, fires right up, piston looks great, drawback, it needs a new drive rim. Correct me if I’m wrong or if you have an easier way. Going to put a piece of hard rubber on top of piston, grind a small groove in clutch hub so i can insert a heavy duty screwdriver to break free and spin off clutch. One pic shows clutch now, other pic shows where screwdriver will go to remove clutch. Thanks.

Hmm, the piston stop sounds good. I would maybe smack the edge of the clutch shoes with a brass punch before I went to grinding on it.

Not sure who made bars for Shindaiwa. Tried to cross reference this but not making headway. Does anybody know if this is the same as an Oregon D009? Thanks.

Hello!

Two pics of my only two Shindaiwas.

The 352s i bought for next to nothing some years ago. It had only a couple of hours of run time, but the piston was fryed due to running to lean. I was able to clean up the cylinder and put a am piston in it. It runs great, and i have used it a lot!
Still in pretty nice shape.

The 451 i got for free. Have not used it much, but its a nice good running saw.
Only real flaw is the broken trottel safety "thing" on the rear handle.

Would love to have another, but Shinnys are not common here in sweden!

Best regards

Love me some Shindaiwas! The rebranded Echo saws actually look good in Shindaiwa colors, unlike the Jonseredmax saws that stand out like Toyota Camry branding on a Saab 900.

I dunno. I don't mind it so much.

Here's my Echo CS390ESX, AKA, Shindaiwa CS390SX:

Just picked this up for 100. Runs won't idle down prob just needs a carb go though and turn down the low. Good deal?KIMG2380.JPG

Not sure on the year. I do know I like using the 575 and could do all of my wood cutting with it if needed to. Works great with 20” bar.
