I just bought this with hopes of making a saw from the two. What is the differences between a 575 and a 577 shindaiwa? What parts interchange? Thanks

That's a saw I'm not familiar with... You'd have to check ipls and Aaron. Is he on here?

I've never worked on a 577. I understand it has several parts in common with the 575. Don't know which ones.

It looks like the wrap handle, air filter, and air filter cover are different between the two saws. The top cover and cylinder are the same between the two, so I’ll just have to see what parts are useable. It looks like I’ll probably fix the 575 and have to buy a wrap handle. Or maybe the 575 filter and cover will work on the 577.

I'm betting youll have good luck with interchangeability. Shinny is rocking that way.

Love me some Shindaiwas! The rebranded Echo saws actually look good in Shindaiwa colors, unlike the Jonseredmax saws that stand out like Toyota Camry branding on a Saab 900.

I just picked up a Shindaiwa 488, it dies out when hot and then it restarts when cold. I believe it needs an ignition. Has anyone used the aftermarket ignition modules for these

Yes .... and with great success.

I have had several coils sold by Huztl on eBay on various saws and have never been disappointed. One worked so well on a 488 I could almost start the saw by flipping the flywheel by hand.

Saw a 357 top handle in a pawn shop today. Neat looking little saw however the recoil and clutch cover were the proper red while the engine housing was a strange pinkish maroon color. Was that common on these saws?

Would seem to be, just the starter is red, while the clutch cover matches the rest of the saw on this particular one.

They would have to discount it alot for me to buy it. Not because it is a bad saw, but I already have an Echo CS-3000 that serves me well.
