Here’s a way to prevent a lot of damage to the bottom of your saw. I’ve done this to the two saws bought new by me and it works. The idea is to get the saw up off the hard surface it’s sitting on, running or not. I use a small hose clamp wrapped around the handlebar so that the worm part of the clamp is used as the third contact point when the saw is sitting. I used some rubber cut to fit between the bar and the clamp. Keeps air circulating under the saw preventing corrosion and when set down on a hard surface (truck bed, driveway,ect.) keeps it from grinding the paint off. My saws have the big dawgs with chain catcher as the other forward contact with the tank handle making it three.
