Here’s a way to prevent a lot of damage to the bottom of your saw. I’ve done this to the two saws bought new by me and it works. The idea is to get the saw up off the hard surface it’s sitting on, running or not. I use a small hose clamp wrapped around the handlebar so that the worm part of the clamp is used as the third contact point when the saw is sitting. I used some rubber cut to fit between the bar and the clamp. Keeps air circulating under the saw preventing corrosion and when set down on a hard surface (truck bed, driveway, ect.) keeps it from grinding the paint off. My saws have the big dawgs with chain catcher as the other forward contact with the tank handle making it three.13B37D16-4789-4C98-9CC1-6B2F364547CE.jpeg 8CE96623-4B6C-49FA-95D3-C47BBA325959.jpeg

This is my mod kind of along the same lines but only to stop the handle bar wearing away they get thin and snap from sliding around in the back of the ute.
You can see how much has warn off the bottom of the dogs.

A Machinist or someone like that could make something along these lines for saw's but properly not like my hack job so the handlebars don't wear away and as said by OP keep the bottom of the saw from rubbing away as an accessory for chainsaws I'd buy em. Doesn't have to be steel could be aluminium or even nylon.
Not sure how many saw's do it I know 660's wear the handle away aswell not sure about huskys saw's.
You can by them big long skid plates meh no thanks you just need to keep that corner up.

Possibly get some longer bolts for the tank and have a plastic block with some counter sunk holes.

A piece of teflon or some other form of plastic as a skid plate would be sweet. The clamp and hose is simple, cheap and works. Might have to add it to a few saws for the time being. I've seen a few aluminum skid plates for certain saws.

I have a couple of rebuilds waiting for attention and I was just planning to get a short piece of waterpipe or rubber hose with an ID greater than the bar and slide it on to act in the same way as @av8or3's model. I wasn't planning on using anything to clamp it in place. just allow the length of hose and handle shape keep it in place. If I cant source suitable pipe or hose, I'll copy this option.

That gets me some ideas on a project. You may just make moderator yet!

I lay a floor mat where I put the saw down or a old rag/towel/blanket. Soaks up the bar oil too. 84245F28-E562-40B7-BAC8-CA69B4D20F1E.jpeg Works for me. When you slam on the brakes stuff doesn’t go flying either.
