Hello all ! I need help, a saw rebuild turned nightmare. One thing after another, I’m left with a new crank case ( aftermarket from dukes) , a hyway cylinder for 288 and a Chinese crankshaft off of eBay stated for a 281,288 and 394. The original flywheel I have from the saw , which was an early 181se is tight against the cylinder. Is the flywheel different from later 281, 288 models or do I have the wrong crank. Any help is much appreciated.

Tight like not turning around?
Grind the cylinder a little bit.
There are 2 types flywheels if I remember.

She’s tight and not turning
I have seen a few Frankenstein builds here in the forums where the "Dr." had to grind down the cylinder a little bit to get everything to fit correctly, including enough clearance for the flywheel.

Your crank might not be centered quite right. Should be able to hit it with a pointed punch and hammer on the clutch side and tap it to the left a little bit. And then give it a half tap back to the right to free up the preload on the bearings
