Very cool! Back when I was a teenybopper and just getting interested in guns, the double action was the most popular. I think they are a elegant looking gun and chambered in many good calibers not chambered in semi auto's.

I can't believe the prices I'm seeing lately on AR's! Seems like the time to stockpile!

Dang it, I need to stay out of the fun store. Dropped by today and they had a really nice Glock 23 Gen 4 just like my 19. Definitely not a high mileage cop gun, honest 95% finish and no signs of holster wear. I've been needing a .40 as I have dies/brass/molds already. I asked their low price and they said $385.00 total and I can layaway til Christmas. So I put some money down on it.

Ran to the range after dinner today. Shot the .308 a little and then the AR15 at the 300 yard steel plates. Fun evening.

Old school Shooting Chrony F1 model I believe. The Norma Match 175g was shooting 2640's out of my 18" barrel.

I like the smk and the gamekings. Always shoot well. Looked at powder the other day. Price more than doubled since I last purchased some. Nuts.

The price of components here has made handloading more or less irrelevant for how much I shoot these days.
$55-70 a pound for powder, dollar plus for the projectile etc

I hear that. The little local shop by me has a great supply of just about everything. I looked on his web page to see if I saw Varget on the shelf. Pics were good enough I could read the prices. It was marked $25. Was over $50 now!

Biggest thing for me is, I don't like most factory ammo. It tends to be too weak or too strong and with a different bullet than I want. I could afford to do all my shooting with factory ammo but I don't like paying a high price for ammo that is not what I actually want. For example, most 9mm ammo is a 115 grain jacketed round nose at 1100 fps. I want a hard cast lead flat nose slug at 1000 fps. Only boutique ammo makers produce that sort of 9mm ammo, and its a buck a round or more. Likewise, I load my .30-30's about 150 fps slower than factory. Accuracy really tightens up, it's easier on my bony shoulder, and kills things just as dead. I load my .40 S&W to about the same as the old .38-40 with a 175 grain lead slug at 800-850 fps. Much easier to shoot and still puts the smack down when needed.
