Follow the surgeon’s instructions. It will also depend on the type of procedure you had, external or arthroscopic as recovery times are different.

Its been about 15 years since mine was removed . Done orthoscopically. But i really can't remember how long i was down. I was working in a cabinet shop at the time and they paid me to program the CNC router and push some buttons. Someone else loaded and unloaded the machine. But it fid seem like forever to get back to full duty.

Had mine removed last. Doctor told me to keep active but no lifting over 25 pounds for 8 weeks. Take it easy even after that. I was high cutting limbs on a blowdown about 10 weeks after the surgery and a got a sharp pain upper abdomen - felt like something tearing. Ended up having to take another few weeks easy. Still was cutting, but with not with the big saws.

As like others have said follow the doctors instructions. I have not had gall bladder or hernia surgery but I have had some major surgeries and I have ignored what I was told which bit my ass.
