It turned into a *pretty boy reality show.

Every now and then you know you have someone who is holding the family together, from the older generation to the younger generation, and he was that guy in his family. As you said, prayers for his family, unfortunately I think they will really need them.

Im sorry to hear it Brian. I know you knew him personally. I have always said he was undoubtedly a great guy.. Scripted TV made him what they wanted. Prayers for the family.

The show may have made loggers look hot headed... But I watched it. Rygaards are good people... I would punch that zitterkopt or whatever his name is in the face

My post above wasn't about anyone on the show personally, its the way the shows were scripted that made the industry look bad to the outside world. RIP Gabe.

I really think he was a guy like anyone one of us, Working hard daily. He was driving a 1995 bronco at the time of the accident and If I had to guess that's what he drives to the landing every day.


The TV show was was just that a Tv show meant to entertain people and attract a large audience.

Terrible news. Scripted reality is not reality. I wish they would have shown the guys working like they would normally. It probably would not have been interesting enough for the masses though...

Sad news for sure. Never watched the show but his logging outfit might have the greatest motto of all times:
"Professional logging by salt of the earth men"
