I was in Venice once.
Terrible overpriced food, ugly non maintained old buildings with extremely narrow passageways, stinking stale water, a $#itload of tourists wandering around either trying to find anything of interest and realizing there isn't anything or trying to find their way back to the mainland.
I was on a business trip in a nearby area, as such Venice was not the reason I was there, just took a shot at it and found it to have been a waste of my time.
